Conventional makeup is one of the harder categories to shop clean: long-wear formulas can rely on PFAS-family film formers, some pigments and talc supplies have documented contamination concerns, and "parfum" hides undisclosed fragrance compounds. Lip products deserve extra attention — what goes on your lips is partly ingested.

Each product in this category has been through Sister's ingredient assessment: full INCI list pulled, every ingredient classified and cross-checked against our safety database, allergens and endocrine-disruption research flagged. Favour brands with complete ingredient disclosure and third-party certifications, and be wary of "clean-washed" marketing that names what's excluded but won't publish what's included.
