With clothing, the ingredient list is the fabric. Conventional garments are dominated by synthetic fibres like polyester (which sheds microplastics in every wash), and can carry chemical finishes — azo dyes, formaldehyde-based anti-wrinkle treatments, and PFAS-family water repellents. Underwear and anything worn against the skin all day deserve the most care.

The pieces listed here favour natural fibres — organic cotton, linen, wool — from brands transparent about their materials, dyes and certifications (look for GOTS and OEKO-TEX). Sister vets materials and brand transparency the same way we vet ingredient lists: if it can't be verified, it isn't listed.
